Upon completion of this session the attendee will be able to discuss optimal repair techniques for Zone II flexor tendon lacerations.
Description
Most symposia on flexor tendon repair focus on the rationale for multi-strand repair, post-operative protocols, and/or the scientific basis of healing. What is overlooked is a clear presentation of what the hand surgeon actually does in practice. In this symposium, 4 leaders in flexor tendon surgery will first present, in detail, the exact technique they perform for a clean Zone II flexor tendon laceration. In the discussion, they will present bullet points on why that repair technique is chosen. In the end, the audience will vote electronically on the method that they would adopt.
