LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this session the attendee will be able to:
- Discuss the status of health care legislation across the country.
- Describe the effect of Federal legislation on the individual States.
- List how you can influence the impending legislation and regulations.
Description
As the cost of health care approximates 20% of the GDP it has become more and more obvious that the present system is unsustainable. As a result the Federal Government and the individual States are looking at many different methods of providing cost effective care. The end result is that health care providers need to be aware of State and Federal regulations. Fortunately the situation is still fluid and the regulations can still be influenced by physicians willing become involved in the political process.
